Rafael Salaberren Dupont FOUNDING PARTNER Head of M&A & Corporate Finance Rafael is one of the founding partners of SyLS.
With more than 25 years in the practice of law, Rafael is broadly recognized among the most prominent lawyers in Argentina in the field of corporate law and M&A. He is consistently recommended and awarded by the several specialized publications including Chambers and Partners, Legal 500, IFLR 1000, etc. He advises domestic and international companies, institutions and individuals in the structuring and development of investments, complex M&A and corporate-finance transactions and business negotiations.
Before founding SyLS, Rafael was a partner in one the largest law firms in Argentina where he headed the Corporate Law and M&A Department of the firm.
Rafael also worked for approx. 4 years at White & Case LLP, where he took part of the International Lawyers Program in the New York office (2000), and then as an Associate in the Latin-American Practice Group in the Miami office (2001-2003), where he was involved in a number of banking finance transactions, debt restructuring processes, M&A transactions and joint ventures, advising companies and financial institutions in the US, Europe, the Caribbean and South America.
Rafael has taken part in several of the most relevant M&A transactions in Argentina over the past 20 years, representing domestic and international buyers and sellers. He was also engaged in several privatization processes (in the energy, postal service, telecommunication and airport industries), structured and competitive M&A processes, debt restructurings, banking finance transactions, project finance, start-ups and VC investments in the technology industry, corporate tax-free reorganizations, etc.
He graduated from Universidad Católica Argentina (UCA) in 1993. He has various post-graduate studies, including his participation in the 1998 Academy of American and International Law of the Southwestern Legal Foundation (SMU, Dallas, Texas).
